Superdrug Vitamin E – Review

So everyone and their mum is raving about the Superdrug vitamin E products and I gave into the hype to check out what all the fuss was about!

I got the Vitamin E eye cream, facial serum and the famous facial mist and as always I didn’t even bother checking what type of skin it is for! I really need to start paying attention rather than buying anything that everyone hypes about, especially when it comes to skin care products.

The first thing I got was the vitamin E eye cream, this is supposed to nourish and hydrate the under eyes. So far I have been using it in the morning and the evening and my under eyes have gone really soft which makes my makeup look smoother it also makes my eyes feel awake and not tired, so I am liking it for that reason however, it is so rich and thick you need the tiniest amount like so so small and if you use a little too much it feels thick, sticky and heavy.  I am still looking for the perfect eye cream!

The next thing and this is purely because everybody and their dog was raving about it, it’s the vitamin E facial mist! Now, this product and I have a love-hate relationship, I love the smell, and that’s about all that I love! The product seems great and someone with dry skin would LOVE it, is so hydrating, for me it’s a little TOO hydrating I am left looking like I drenched my face in oil! Also the nozzle? like why does it shoot straight at you? for that reason I always ended up spraying too much! So I resulted in spraying it onto a cotton pad and applying it to my face, avoiding my T-zone as that is where I get really oily and it does give my skin a healthy glow as long as I pat it in there’s no sticky-ness. I can’t use it every day but it’s great for the days my skin feels dry and dull.

The third thing I picked up was the vitamin E facial serum, this again like the mist this smells amazing, I love the smell of the products in this range. I applied the serum on after cleansing in the morning and evening and it instantly makes my skin feel AMAZINGLY smooth, I like this for days where I going to add extra moisture and it sinks straight into the skin without making it look sticky or leaving my skin looking oily, I use this on days where I am going to be using a lot of powder based products as my skin dries easily. I like it, I don’t love it because overall I don’t think it did anything amazing to my skin also when I applied too much I found I get small under the skin spots/bumps!

Over all the whole range is so cheap each product was under £5 and always on offer, I got them on offer too from Superdrug buy one, get one-half price, which makes them even cheaper, I think the products would be really good for people with dry skin, however the facial spray is also great to set makeup, or to give your face a natural glow! But I don’t see myself buying anything else from this range, it didn’t wow me.

Has anyone else tried anything from this range?

How My New Skincare Routine Changed My Skin

Everybody wants to look flawless right? And what do we do to try and achieve it? Buy a foundation costing £40 and then a primer for £20 then we realise we have really bad under eyes so we invest in concealers so almost around £50-£80 on trying to achieve flawless skin and while we’re at it we are destroying the skin more!! So recently I decided to spend more money on skin care to make my skin better which resulted in making any foundation look flawless!! See I believe you can make any product work but in their own way.

So I switched up EVERYTHING I used except my trusty St.Ives face scrub. So firstly I am so grateful for the ladies who introduced me to all these amazing products, my skin has transformed and I have never been so confident in my own skin!

Makeup Remover

So starting off with removing my makeup, if I am wearing makeup I use the Garnier Micellar cleansing water for my face and for my eye makeup I use the Nivea eye makeup cleanser, never in my life have I seen such an amazing product!

Cleanse

Next, I cleanse again or go straight to this step if I’m not wearing makeup. I am still switching up cleansers I am currently searching for the one! But till then I am liking the Pixi Cleanser this leaves my skin feeling REALLY smooth and looking bright, however I am still contemplating whether it’s a favourite, another thing I like about this cleanser is that I can use it as a mask, so I will apply it and leave it on for about 10 minutes then wash it off as normal. The next cleanser I have been using and actually really been liking this because it is a cleanser, toner and moisturiser and I picked it up for £1.75! It is the Avon Care 3 in 1 cleanser, this is priced at £3.50 but I got it on offer, and I am really liking it, it makes my skin look and feel fresh and bright and it doesn’t dry my skin which is the best thing ever I hate cleansers that dry my skin out!! Lastly the third cleanser I am using and I am not really liking it is the L’Oreal fine flower gel wash, I have done a mini review on this on my Instagram you can read that HERE.

Scrub

After Cleansing I scrub, I don’t always scrub I don’t want to dry my skin out but the only scrub I ever use and have used is the St.Ives scrub, I know a lot of people have said this scrub did not work for them, but I love it!

Mask

If I am going to use a mask it’s usually after scrubbing and depending on what products I have used already then I pick a mask it’s usually between the L’Oreal pure clay masks, the Detox one and Glow one are my favourite!

Moisturise

Eye:

For my eyes I use the Vitamin E Eye cream from the Superdrug range, so far I am like it makes my eye area feel smooth which makes applying makeup on easier, it also gives me a ‘wake up’ feeling.

Face:

Now it’s time to put all the moisture back into the skin and I have Oily combination skin so finding a moisturiser that’s moisturising enough and doesn’t make my skin more oily is pretty hard and annoying so I’m floating between moisturisers. I use to use the Nivea moisturiser for sensitive skin, I don’t have sensitive skin but I liked it because it was light, well I thought it was until it started to make my skin look greasy! So I got the Mac studio moisture fix, this is really lightweight I love this moisturiser however, £22 for a moisturiser is pretty expensive so I am looking for a cheaper alternative. The best thing that has happened since I changed my skin are routine is that my dry skin has gone less noticeable, the facial sprays I have been using have cleared my skin and kept it hydrated so my skin isn’t as dry as it used to be. My favourite facial spray I use every single day without a doubt is the

My favourite facial spray I use every single day without a doubt is the Mario Badescu Facial spray this spray is AMAZING I reviewed it in a previous post which you can find HERE. It has helped clear marks on my face and kept it hydrated I can’t talk about this spray enough! I love it! Some days When I feel like my skin is more on the oily side I don’t even bother using a cream I just pray this all over my face and neck, it’s really made my skin feel and look better!

I have also been liking the Vitamin E serum from the Superdrug range, I still haven’t decided whether I like it or not but what I do know is that it makes my skin feel so smooth! A lot of people have claimed the Vitamin E range has broke their skin out, I’m still not sure about it! The same range have a hydrating must which is another great product to hydrate your skin I have a love hate relationship with this it can make you look oily and feel sticky if you use too much, but when the right amount is used it can be so good! I am going to be doing a full review on some of the products I have in the Vitamin E range so look out for that!

Toner

Toners something I switch up between however I have found an amazing toner, I am loving it so far I only got it very recently but omg I love it! It is the La-Roche Posay Serozonic Spray, this toner is for oily skin which is perfect for me, it slightly tingles, but it’s a good tingle!

The Mario Badescu facial spray is another spray I use as a toner it is so versatile you can use it to set makeup hydrate and tone your face, you can even use it on your hair!! If you don’t already own it, you need it!

Body

Lastly the latest edition to my morning skin care routine is the Nip & Fab Tummy Fix, When I first saw this on the Superdrug website I was so curious and HAD to check it out, so far I haven’t seen results however I am hoping its one of those products that needs to be used over a long period of time before you can see results!#

I don’t use all these products daily I switch them up depending on the weather or how my skin is, and remember guys what works for me may not work for you and I have Oily/Combination skin, just thought I would add that in, incase anyone wanted to try the products out although I do believe some of these if not most are actually good for dry skin!

Thank you for reading my post, this was just my morning routine, would anyone like to see an evening skin care routine? Let me know in the comments below and follow me on Instagram @beautybyaneesa_ to keep up with what I am loving!

False Lash Superstar Mascara – Review

I saw a TV ad on these mascaras, the ‘Xfiber’ one and I was sold – Damn you TV, selling me shit all the time! I was convinced this mascara was going to give me HUGE lashes! I was feeling slightly guilty for not repurchasing my ALL TIME FAVOURITE mascara the Maybelline Lash Sensational, but I wanted to try something new,  So I went to Superdrug to pick one up and I totally forgot which mascara it was! There were two mascaras that looked the same with different colour packaging so I ended up getting the Superstar False Lash mascara (silver packaging).

False Lash Superstar Mascara

The superstar mascara has a double end, one side is a white primer that thickens and adds volume to prepare the lashes before the second coat. The other end has the actual mascara with fibre in it to lengthen the lashes.

So I have been using this since I got it and it definitely makes your lashes look longer I love the primer it really gives VOLUME to the lashes and the shape of the brush helps it get into the corner of my eye to grab each hair! The mascara applies nicely over the primer and makes your lashes look long and HUGE! The only thing I don’t like about this mascara is half way through the day the lashes don’t look as lifted as they did when you apply the mascara so by the end of the day they look straight :/ which is annoying so I mentioned how I did not like it all and some people recommended I go for the Xfiber one, the one I actually saw on TV -.-!

False Lash Superstar X Fiber Mascara

So the Superstar Xfiber mascara is similar to the other mascara however, the primer is black and does the exact same thing as the white one so it gives your lashes volume and a lift. The other side of this, well as you can tell by the name has Extra fibers compared to the other mascara, you can see them on the wand in the picture, with this mascara because it’s like adding two coats I apply the fiber part mainly at the ends of the lashes and they look amazing! This one is my favourite from the two, but I wouldn’t say its my favourite mascara it looks a little clumpy, that’s mainly because of the fibers, I still prefer the Maybelline Lash Sensational, it’s literally my most favourite mascara EVER!

I got both of these from Superdrug, they were both £10.99 but L’Oreal always have some sort of offer on and if they don’t then Superdrugs will have one on, I hardly ever buy anything that’s not on offer! Why pay full price when they will almost always be on offer right?

Rate these products out of 10: (Superstar) 5/10 (Xfiber) 7/10

Would I recommend these products?: (Superstar) No (Xfiber) Yes

Would I repurchase these products: No
