How My New Skincare Routine Changed My Skin

Everybody wants to look flawless right? And what do we do to try and achieve it? Buy a foundation costing £40 and then a primer for £20 then we realise we have really bad under eyes so we invest in concealers so almost around £50-£80 on trying to achieve flawless skin and while we’re at it we are destroying the skin more!! So recently I decided to spend more money on skin care to make my skin better which resulted in making any foundation look flawless!! See I believe you can make any product work but in their own way.

So I switched up EVERYTHING I used except my trusty St.Ives face scrub. So firstly I am so grateful for the ladies who introduced me to all these amazing products, my skin has transformed and I have never been so confident in my own skin!

Makeup Remover

So starting off with removing my makeup, if I am wearing makeup I use the Garnier Micellar cleansing water for my face and for my eye makeup I use the Nivea eye makeup cleanser, never in my life have I seen such an amazing product!

Cleanse

Next, I cleanse again or go straight to this step if I’m not wearing makeup. I am still switching up cleansers I am currently searching for the one! But till then I am liking the Pixi Cleanser this leaves my skin feeling REALLY smooth and looking bright, however I am still contemplating whether it’s a favourite, another thing I like about this cleanser is that I can use it as a mask, so I will apply it and leave it on for about 10 minutes then wash it off as normal. The next cleanser I have been using and actually really been liking this because it is a cleanser, toner and moisturiser and I picked it up for £1.75! It is the Avon Care 3 in 1 cleanser, this is priced at £3.50 but I got it on offer, and I am really liking it, it makes my skin look and feel fresh and bright and it doesn’t dry my skin which is the best thing ever I hate cleansers that dry my skin out!! Lastly the third cleanser I am using and I am not really liking it is the L’Oreal fine flower gel wash, I have done a mini review on this on my Instagram you can read that HERE.

Scrub

After Cleansing I scrub, I don’t always scrub I don’t want to dry my skin out but the only scrub I ever use and have used is the St.Ives scrub, I know a lot of people have said this scrub did not work for them, but I love it!

Mask

If I am going to use a mask it’s usually after scrubbing and depending on what products I have used already then I pick a mask it’s usually between the L’Oreal pure clay masks, the Detox one and Glow one are my favourite!

Moisturise

Eye:

For my eyes I use the Vitamin E Eye cream from the Superdrug range, so far I am like it makes my eye area feel smooth which makes applying makeup on easier, it also gives me a ‘wake up’ feeling.

Face:

Now it’s time to put all the moisture back into the skin and I have Oily combination skin so finding a moisturiser that’s moisturising enough and doesn’t make my skin more oily is pretty hard and annoying so I’m floating between moisturisers. I use to use the Nivea moisturiser for sensitive skin, I don’t have sensitive skin but I liked it because it was light, well I thought it was until it started to make my skin look greasy! So I got the Mac studio moisture fix, this is really lightweight I love this moisturiser however, £22 for a moisturiser is pretty expensive so I am looking for a cheaper alternative. The best thing that has happened since I changed my skin are routine is that my dry skin has gone less noticeable, the facial sprays I have been using have cleared my skin and kept it hydrated so my skin isn’t as dry as it used to be. My favourite facial spray I use every single day without a doubt is the

My favourite facial spray I use every single day without a doubt is the Mario Badescu Facial spray this spray is AMAZING I reviewed it in a previous post which you can find HERE. It has helped clear marks on my face and kept it hydrated I can’t talk about this spray enough! I love it! Some days When I feel like my skin is more on the oily side I don’t even bother using a cream I just pray this all over my face and neck, it’s really made my skin feel and look better!

I have also been liking the Vitamin E serum from the Superdrug range, I still haven’t decided whether I like it or not but what I do know is that it makes my skin feel so smooth! A lot of people have claimed the Vitamin E range has broke their skin out, I’m still not sure about it! The same range have a hydrating must which is another great product to hydrate your skin I have a love hate relationship with this it can make you look oily and feel sticky if you use too much, but when the right amount is used it can be so good! I am going to be doing a full review on some of the products I have in the Vitamin E range so look out for that!

Toner

Toners something I switch up between however I have found an amazing toner, I am loving it so far I only got it very recently but omg I love it! It is the La-Roche Posay Serozonic Spray, this toner is for oily skin which is perfect for me, it slightly tingles, but it’s a good tingle!

The Mario Badescu facial spray is another spray I use as a toner it is so versatile you can use it to set makeup hydrate and tone your face, you can even use it on your hair!! If you don’t already own it, you need it!

Body

Lastly the latest edition to my morning skin care routine is the Nip & Fab Tummy Fix, When I first saw this on the Superdrug website I was so curious and HAD to check it out, so far I haven’t seen results however I am hoping its one of those products that needs to be used over a long period of time before you can see results!#

I don’t use all these products daily I switch them up depending on the weather or how my skin is, and remember guys what works for me may not work for you and I have Oily/Combination skin, just thought I would add that in, incase anyone wanted to try the products out although I do believe some of these if not most are actually good for dry skin!

Thank you for reading my post, this was just my morning routine, would anyone like to see an evening skin care routine? Let me know in the comments below and follow me on Instagram @beautybyaneesa_ to keep up with what I am loving!

Pixi; Best Of Bright – Review

One of my boxing day/new year purchases was the Pixi Glow Best of Bright set, it’s a set of travel sizes of the Pixi glow tonic, the glow mud mask and the glow mud cleanser. Now, I have been wanting to try this brand out for ages! I have heard so many good things about the Glow mask but as always there are negative reviews on how it breaks out some on people, anyways so when I saw this on sale I thought it would be a good way to try the products out because there is no way I was going to purchase the full product and then find it wasn’t good for my skin!

The set was a part of the Christmas gift sets from M&S and it was on sale for £12 down from £20, when I bought this I didn’t actually know they were travel sizes so I was pretty gutted when I saw how tiny they
were! They like fit in my palm!! aha

Pixi Cleansing mud mask: Cleanses deep into the pores and detoxifies the skin, it also contains 5% hyaluronic acid, aloe vera, avocado, oil to pump and nourish the skin.

Pixi Glow mud mask: Draws out impurities and combats breakouts. The mask revitalises, clarifies and brightens the skin, Kaolin and sea salt purify the skin while Ginseng and aloe vera balance.

Pixi Glow Tonic: An exfoliating toner that works to perfect the skin tone and texture leaving the skin with a healthy glow. It contains Aloe vera, ginseng, botanical extracts which work together to soothe and treat problematic skin. The product claims it is gentle on all skin types ( I don’t believe this is true after hearing other reviews so if you do purchase this I would advise getting a sample or travel size one)

So I have used these products for a week I used the mask twice and I used the cleanser and toner daily for about a week, and here are my thoughts on them!

Cleanser

When I first used the cleanser I found it a little weird how it goes thicker and thicker as you massage it however it is a nice feeling as if your rubbing all the dirt out of your face. A good tip when using the cleanser given to me by Phosbeauty, is to massage the cleanser into the skin and leave it on as a mask for around 10minutes, this leaves you skin feeling extra smooth! I like the cleanser but I wouldn’t say I love it, it cleans my skin and leaves it feeling really soft and looking a lot brighter however, I don’t think it’s amazing.

Mud Mask

I’ve never tried a mud mask on my face so this one is a first, I have used it a handful of times and I think its a nice mask for a normal day It made my skin look brighter and feel really soft which I liked, I find this mask is best to do in my evening skin care routine, in the morning my face looked bright and my skin looked great! I might possibly buy this again.

Glow Tonic

Now this one is the reason I bought the whole thing! people rave about this toner so much I had to try it out and honestly it has been a love hate relationship! When I first used it it was that time of the month, so I broke out really bad, I was so annoyed because I hadn’t broke out like this in YEARS so I blamed the toner and put it away a week or so later I thought it may have been because my skin is more sensitive at that time so I gave it a go and I REALLY liked it, obviously not straight away but a week of using it in my evening skin care I noticed my skin looks more fresh and has a healthy glow, my skin looks the best it has ever looked!!

Overall I think I would purchase the Glow Tonic again and maybe the mud mask but I don’t think I would purchase the cleanser, I still haven’t found ‘THE’ cleanser, every cleanser I use has something I don’t like about it!

Rate the product: 7/10

Would I recommend it: Yes

Would I repurchase: Not all the products!

If you do want to buy yourself this version it is no longer available in M&S however you can buy it from HERE, which I think is worth it as you get all three products to try out before knowing if you like them.

Thank you for reading my review!
