Starting Your Weight Loss Journey

Before I start this post I HAVE to say, I am not a professional and have no qualifications in managing weight this is all from my own experience! So please don’t try anything that seemsĀ

So I have been trying to lose weight since I had my first child around 5 years ago, and I have tried and tested SO many things and some have worked, some took a few trials and some were a waste of time and money so I thought I would share some of my experiences with you guys seen as I have a some of you asking me questions and also because when I first started out I did not know where to look and wondered around online like a headless chicken buying anything that was appealing to my eyes and lusting over peoples before and after pictures dreaming of looking lean and having abs.

First things first and you will read this ever but the quicker you take it into consideration and take action the better it will be in the long run, hell it took me five years! THERE IS NO QUICK FIX, no pills, or drinks no nothing! It’s a long road and you HAVE to be dedicated, results will show, with consistency so don’t be disheartened when you don’t have a flat stomach after a week, it’s coming I promise, just keep going! Your mental state has a HUGE impact on your weight loss, when you feel like things are not working you go back to the poor diet, no motivation and then were back to square one!

What you eat

So once you are in right frame of mind things will go smoother and easier from here, when starting off losing weight DO NOT jump in fully making a meal plan cutting everything that’s unhealthy and planning to workout every single day and drinking 4 bottles of water-its unrealistic and chances of it actually lasting are ZERO! So you work on it bit by bit starting with the MAIN source FOOD.

Eating is the culprit and trying to change what you eat is a massive commitment and it doesn’t happen over night so you have to start small, make a list of all the things you eat and group them up, so carbs, proteins and the junk. Then slowly begin to cut things out not forever just have less of them and slowly you will stop wanting to eat whatever it is, another thing that works, is replacing it with something healthier I have stopped eating crisps and chocolate and exchanged them for granola bars or the Special K thins! That does not mean I don’t eat chocolate, I LOVE CHOCOLATE!! CHOCOLATE IS LIFE <3

If your working on LOSING weight then I would recommend adding food with protein and cutting out carbs, you could drink a protein shake (Bootea shake is THE BEST, it tastes JUST like milkshake!! Non of that thick weird taste)!

Keep Hydrated

Next, WATER! I can’t stress how important this is, water helps keep you hydrated and helps you digest your food also helps with weight loss but just as I said about the food, water is another thing you need to add slowly to your diet especially if your one of those people that drink no water at all, if you try drinking loads of water your going to end
up feelingĀ bloated and your bodies water levels will change resulting in you just drinking water and its coming straight out, I don;t want to get into the technical terms but you know what I mean, I only ever drank water with my dinner so like a glass a day if that! So I started buying crates of water and drinking one bottle a day, then one and half then two and so on, at the moment I am drinking 3-4 bottles and I feel amazing!

Detox

Now that you have started making a change in your diet its time to start thinking about changing your body the next thing I would recommend is doing a detox, that can be a water detox or a teatox this will kickstart your actual weight loss by getting rid of the toxins in your body, I have reviewed the Bootea Weightloss bundle and as a starter I would highly recommend Bootea, I have tried a number of teatox’s and this one was my favourite that showed best results I have repurchased this a 4 times its brilliant, remember a TEATOX IS NOT A LONG TERM WEIGHTLOSS product it AIDS weight loss to kickstart your journey don’t expect to drop 3 dress sizes with tea alone however alone it still does amazing things (please be careful when doing a teatox if your not drinking the right amount of fluids it can have a negative effect on your body) Check out my review on Bootea HERE. Another cleanse I would recommend is the colon cleanse I have been doing this one recently and this is definitely my favourite cleanse/detox check out my post on the cleanse HERE.

Add vitamins to your diet to help give your self-energy, I am currently taking the Bootea vitamins, you could take any they’re so cheap from anywhere!

Exercise

Working out, this is the part everyone hates however, it really isn’t that bad, you could literally walk fo an hour a day, dance make your workout fun and suitable for you! The more you dread it the harder it will be, so try new things find someone who motivates you, follow them! My personal Favourite is Jillian Michaels her workouts WORK! As long as you keep up with them and don’t slack! I had the DVD of her 30 Day Shred however you can find it on youtube and follow from there, what I love about this workout is its only 20minutes of circuit training however she changes up the movements to work big muscles along with small muscles and adding in cardio which results in MAXIMUM fat burning even hours after the workout is complete! You can find the workouts HERE.

Build Muscle!! Most women feel if they build muscles they will end up looking ‘manly’ that is NOT the case unless you take some sort of steroids! Women do NOT have the testosterone to give them the whole ‘manly’ ‘bulky’ look! In fact training on your muscles helps burn MORE fat so work on muscles (this is another reason I like Jillian Michaels, she targets muscles!) – This is where the protein comes in and aids with muscle building!

Last thing and one of the most important is taking before and after pictures of yourself, this doesn’t mean you have to post them online or share them with anyone these are purely for yourself, I had been trying to lose weight for years and the weighing myself wasn’t enough- muscle weighs more than fat so you can’t necessarily tell how much you have lost however photos, well that’s just proof and you can SEE it and seeing it mentally makes you feel ALOT better about your weight loss journey I did NOT realise how much weight I had lost till I did a recent after picture, I was shocked and it motivated me to do more!! I feel so much better and confident in myself too!

Starting your weight loss journey has to be exciting and fun or it won’t work, you will get bored easily or give in to cravings. You have to go easy on yourself and remember is a lifestyle, not a part time fix. If you put the effort in you will see results, if you guys have any questions just let me know! Always more than happy to help!

I am still going through my journey and have a long way to go however the tips above have helped me LOADS hope they help and motivate anyone who needed it!
